Businessmann and Lies

Immediately after graduation I got an opportunity to live in a multi religious

Sadhana place for thirteen moths as a Sewak, but never got ordained or got any

dikchya there. Since I did not planned to live there for ever I asked the

Bhikchu, head of the ashram about having to tell lies as a business person. He

firmly maintained that lies should be avoided by keeping the truth to yourself.

I was inquisitive and asked him...." Yes, may be possible when marketing and

selling but when somebody comes to you for borrowing cash (WHICH YOU ALWAYS

HAVE) and if you do not want to, then we will be cornered and forced to lie

that YOU DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY!!!

He said that also could be modified and you can simply say

" I DO NOT HAVE YHE MONEY... TO LOAN TO YOU ". I liked the trick and have been

applying this principle for the rest of my life for more than 20 years now. It

works.

 

Why is the western world more prosperous ??

Why are we (people in the Eastern Part of the world) poorer than the western one

despite the fact that we practice spritually more with part of the goal of

getting materially more prosperous???

The Bhikchu gave me the following answer ......

Yes, it looks like we do the Good thngs in life more than a western person but

in reality they have the superiority because the good things come to them

automatically.

Ane he gave an example of Meat eating. He said meet eating is taboo. But if you

do not know or are aware of eating meat you are not involved in the killing.

People in orient eat the animals not the meat therfore they tend to involve in

killing in a higher degree. For example The orient eats Murga the west eats

chicken.... the orient eats Bakara the west eats Mutton, the orient eats Suwar

the west eats pork, the orient eats Gai (GOU Mas) the west eats beef. Look at

the western child, it can hardly relate between chicken (meat) to a rosster or

a hen, it can hardly relate mutton to a living goat or beef to a cow. Therefore

the western child is eating vegetable all the time. Potato, Couliflower, beef,

onion, mutton etc.

The oreint languages I have studied endorse this.

Hindi, Panjabi, Haryanavi, Burmese, Shri Lankan, Burmese, Thai, Chinese all call

_Gai ki Mas, they do not have the expression - beef. Therefore they are all

killing the animal while eating meat and they are suffering for the same type

of follies they have been making.

I am convinced to some extent.

How did I meet Pujya Bade Guru Dev?

 

After I left the Ashram in 1978 I came back to the material world and got

employed. The last instruction I received from the Ashram was to practice -

Mitta by chanting Sabbae Satta Avera Hontu, (May all Beings be free from

Concerns or enemies)

Sabbe Satta Avyapizza Hontu, (May all beings be free from suffering)

Sabbe Satta Aniga Hontu (May all Beings be free from Worries)

Sabbe Satta Sukhi Attanam Pari Harantu, (May all Beings be able to attain Sukha)

Sabbe Satta Yatha Lata Sampatti taw Mavi Gatchantu ( May all Beings be able to

retain their material wealth)

and Sabbe Stta Kamma Sa Ka ( May all Beings be governed by their Kamma)

This is in Pali and translation as I understand. I chanted and practiced this

until 1997 for about twenty odd years.

UNtil I found my elder Guru Bhai who made me go to the lotus feet of Pram Pujya

Guru Dev. It took me more than six months to be persuaded to go to Guru Dham

and take Dikchya in Laxmi Puja Shivir in 1997 October. I wil write about this

first trip and about my feelings before I was taking Diokchya from Param Pujya

Guru Dev and my feelings afterwards.
