Dear Brothers and Sisters

I hope so many of us must be using the above panchang. If someone

can tell me the procedure of how to see the panchange or actually how

to go about.

I think our mateshwari might be having some idea of this. Please-

please tell me. I have already brought the panchange but have no

knowledge about it. Please guide me.

dear gurubhai,

you read a panchang the same way you read any table. or if you wish

to understand better you read it like the elements of a matrix where

a(2,3) denotes the second row and third coumn.

the time mentioned is the end time and not the starting time. i hope

this helps.

good wishes,

however,

the most useful part of the panchang is listings of sarvarth siddhi,

amrit sidhi yogs, ravi pushya yog etc..as well as of all festivals

including say maha vidya jayanti etc which you do not find elsewhere.

it also contains lists of somewhat inauspicious times like panchak

(from last charan of dhanistha to revati nakshtra--5 nakshatra),

jwalamailini yog etc.

my sincere advice is that you do not get lost in reading articles,

and predictions etc in the paNCHANG. they can really mislead and

confuse you. i have learnt it all along with the little i know the

the hard way. and reading the panchang table may not do much good

until you know what is being talked about.

it may help in determining auspicious time for sadhnas. e.g. have you

noticed that very often there is 2 day gap and not one day gap between

diwali and bhai dooj.

this is because diwali falls when it is night and amavasya, and bhai

dooj when it is dooj after sunrise and before noon. you can use this

policy for your sadhnas.

the tithi for the day is the tithi at sunrise. so is the nakshatra

(nakshatra is the constellation in which moon is placed), similarly

karan yog etc are given but i do not understand them too much.
