If your guru is a real guru, he will be out there to help you money or no money. for people who do not have enough money it is good to pledge some money OR perform some service to humanity depending on capacity. Service done by hand and body is far superior to offering money. A big trap with the money business is that people think that 1) until they manage the money their problem cannot be solved and never actually go about performing sadhana and spend time worrying about money and 2)once they have managed the money-their job is done. Now it is the problem of the people selling the yantra/ giving the jap etc. it is our own karma that got us into a mess and we alone will have to undo it. Guru/ ishta can help. But if they take up something that you have the means to rectify they deny you the path to and the pleasure of self realization and in effect insult the God who created you as a reflection of himself. The best way to go about it is to start with a chanting routine. for people well versed with hindi/sanskrit gayatri is the best starting point irrespective of what their aim is. they can then graduate to chetna and guru mantra. I got associated with Gurudev when i was chanting gayatri without seeking a guru at all. For those who have barriers accepting our guru as theirs should accept shiva or whoever they fancy mentally as their guru and start. for people who cannot chant gayatri starting with chanting aum vocally will give the same results. the first results will be apparent even after chanting 5 malas in the form of peace of mind. Partly, because it is personal belief and partly because i have seen it work, i recommend chating aum namah shivaay or better still mahamrtyunjaya mantra as soon as you are able to follow some kind of a discipline. simply because a lot of us acquire a lot of negative thought patterns/ habits energy which need to be broken (tantra baadha/ pitra dosh/ bhoot baadha are only complicated names and expression of these negative vibrations. again because of the fewer rules it involves i recommend amogh sadashiv kavach uploaded on the files section by my gurubhai. That sums up almost everything i can say. and it really is very little. I visited a lot of spiritual discussion lists last week and got somewhat bored just like i bored you all right now. why is being spiritual synonymous with being dull and depressive.? it is like if you laugh you cannot know God? Guest guest Posted November 14, 2002 Report Share Posted November 14, 2002 --- hey you ashish again! my being a silent observer or not a silent observer has nothing to do with or my "suffering" in words of a brother - (i am not suffering i am quite happy in my life). it is just that i need to have some work done!! so no one need to take sides or correct or recorrect. somehow, it hurts and feels like ineterference. what i did find surfing through discussion lists were several plastic relationships in this surreal world - i am glad we have real fire here. so once for all let us reunite and close this mess and get this behind us. i had thought of writing a long emotionally charged mail and could not work for 2 hours in the morning, but then i had to go for a meeting and i am totally blank on this issue and my head is filled with prosfessional things i am excited about.
