Guest guest Posted April 19, 2002 Report Share Posted April 19, 2002 To my dear spiritual companions, Quotes of Yogananda:- Cosmic Law is activated by our Decisions The cosmic law is not the doer of things,but the evolutionary mode of operation of cause & effect.This law works changes when activated by the agency of our decisions,which are determined either by our past tendencies or by our present free choice.The motive of eternal good that is interlinked with the cosmic law is in every atom & in us too.It is what inherently urges us to learn from past mistakes & to use our free choice & will to initiate those positive causes that produce everlasting good effects. No matter what his present state,man can change for the better through self control , discipline & following proper diet & health laws.The examples of great men shows that our destiny is not fixed.No one keeps you tied to destiny but yourself.Great men became great by changing their attitude & everyone can do the same.Usually those who have achieved great things in life have also had great failures.Bur they refused to downed by them.Those who have achieved won many battles & lost others,but they did not give into a negative "destiny". Evil karma produces evil results & is again the fertile soil for more evil actions & results.But a person that is under the influence of particular bad habit due to his karmic past tendencies, he should not mix with those who have same kind of bad habit & due to it( self control ) things will change for better. -------------------- Example:- Suppose through the horoscope an astrologer deduce that person has huge craving for lust or women & he is likely to get diseases or trouble in the future now this craving is due to past tendencies & future is yet to fructify now what the god wants from his son that he should behave & control .Now two things can happen & he can exercise free choice 1.) case, women with same low immoral vibrations shall be attracted to him or he will get attracted to them seeking enjoyment resulting in disease so nature shall try to apply control on him 2.)case, He exercises self control , will power, abstains from women or such company or men who keep company of women, or controls the mind through other methods his future changes without getting a disease & his troubles get lessened leading to spiritual progress & he is saved. But it is often seen that people ignorantly give to their past tendencies & strength it then saying to astrologer that your prediction was right many women are troubling me or I got a disease now you please tell me some "oopaya" to get rid of her or the disease what the panditji will do he will say I will get rid of your disease or women for you, but do we think persons problems get solved ,no he prepares the person for fresh problems without actually solving it, so until & unless he leaves his bad habits or abstains or apply self control through his will power he will not get true benefit . But, What our social law does? we send minor criminal to jail with bigger criminal to make him super criminal & more problems for society. We give in all material education to our children without spiritual & moral education & the result is that in old age parents are considered as material liabilities because they don't fit in properly in material furniture & result is that they are thrown out or disposed. Similarly person who shows lot or has lot of anger should stay with calm people or who has no anger. Persons who are pessimistic or are under depression should stay with optimistic people & positive thinking. diseased people should stay with healthy people to remain healthy. Thanks Rohit.
