Guest guest
To my dear spiritual companions, One of the most important functions of pranayam is to bring about the stability of the mind. Our saints & sages had realized the secret of it from very ancient times. In Rig Veda the description of pranayam is described in the following verse: translation:- " the two types of vayus namely pran & apan are constantly flowing in our body.the one pervades the region from the throat to the heart & other expands to the outer regions of the air. pran-apan gives us the strength, health & zest & apan vayu relieves us of weakness & disease." the practice of pranayam is divided into three parts. 1. rechak exalation. 2.purak inhalation & 3. kumbhak retention of breath. retention of breath within is called internal kumbhak & after exhaling & holding externally is external kumbhak. the union of pran & apan is called pranayam In the secret of bhagwat gita it is mentioned:- " apane juhati pranam pranna prannam tathapara pranna panngati rudhva pranayam prayanna" meaning :- merging of apan into pran. merging of pran into apan. stopping the flow of pran & apan. the person who knows the art of controlling his pran also knows the art of controlling the universal pranic energy. Some of this energy is consciously or unconsciously tapped by faith healers, reki masters, yogi's, psychics. Thanks. Rohit.
