To my dear spiritual companions,

 

2 Svadhisthana chakra , the centre of whatever constitutes the individual’s

personality, situated in the spine in the region above the genitals, carries on

its six vermilion petal the six Sanskrit letters ba, bha, ma, ya, ra, la. In the

pericarp, the water element is represented by a half-moon with the seed mantra

Vam. The energy is Rakini or Chakini Sakti, in dark blue, three-eyed,

four-armed holding a trident, a lotus, a drum and a chisel, seated on a red

lotus.

The chakra’s associated animal is the light grey or green makara (a sea-monster

similar to the crocodile), an emblem of the waters and the vehicle of the god

Varuna, lord of the sea. The chakra governs the principle of taste, and the

vital breath prana.

 

SWADHISTHANA CHAKRA (2)(under the navel) He who contemplates on the Swadhisthana

Chakra becomes an object of love and adoration for all beautiful Goddesses. He

recites various sastras ans sciences unknown to him before: becomes free from

diseases, and moves throughout the world fearlessly. Death is eaten by him, he

is eaten by none. He obtains the highest psychic powers like Anima and Laghima,

etc. The vayu moves equally throughout his body and enters into Susumna Nadi:

the humors of his body also are increased. The ambrosia exceeding from the

thousand petalled lotus also increases in him.

2. The second center of force, Swadhisthana chakra has as area of physical

projection the area placed above the sexual organs, represents the sensual

consciousness, imagination, and is associated with the sexual potential

energy.On a physical level, this center of force is responsible for desire,

imagination, hallucinations, sensuality, and need to have a family. It is

responsible for assimilation, procreation, lymphatic system, and menstrual

secretions.The yogic literature says that the disharmonious activation of this

chakra may produce states of agitation and mental confusion.The persons that

are under the influence of this chakra may have an effect of "aspiration" of

the psychic in a downward direction.The persons that have predominance in the

activation of this chakra are highly impressionable, have an active and fertile

imagination, as well as the aptitude of verbalizing their perceptions - which

makes them quite suited for guidance and healing."The person that focuses and

meditates on this chakra and on the energies correspondent to it will not fear

water. He may gain great psychic capacities, genial creative imagination,

intuitive knowledge and a perfect mastering over the sexual function and of the

senses and easily knows the astral worlds. Imprisoning passions, anger,

attachments, vanity, jealousy, and other psychical impurities are easily cast

away. Such a person will be young-looking, will have a great regenerative

capacity, and finally overcomes death." (Swami Shivananda)
