Guest guest
To keep alive the good work initiated by ashish, till he takes it over again This a reprint from dec 81 issue in dec 97. Ganapati is the first to be worshipped and remover of obstacles. In kaliyug—kallo chandi vinaayaka—means that ganapati and devi give faster results to worship as compared to other GODs. I am just giving a few rules first 1)it is recommended that a householder should worship panch dev on a daily baisis for all success and happiness. Among the 5 devs, the first to be worshipped is sun (sun who is supposed to be a bomb a reflection of the supremeThen ganesh, then durga, then shiv and then vishnu.) 2) sometimes the worship place acquires more than one statue or photoi of the same GOD. There is a note of warning that keeping 2 shivling, 2shankh (shells), 2sun pratimas, 2 shaligram, 2 hgomti chakra, 3 ganapatis, and 3 devi pratimas is forbidden. 3) it is recommended that staring ganapati pooja in chaitra (roughly april), vaishakha (roughly may), jyaith(june), maagh(feb) and phalgun (march) shukla paksh (waxing moon) re more recommended. 4) the staue of ganapati should be roughly 12 finger wdth in height. Bigger than this is not recommended, but smaller is allowed. 5) ganapati should be established in the north east 6) tulsi should never ever be offered to ganapati. 7) water offered to a ganapati vigrah should be from a copper tumbler. 8) red flowers, but all fragnant flowers have aspecial place in ganapati worship and is aid to bring riches. 9)parikrama of a ganapati mandir should not be nore than one. 10) guru poojan should be done before ganapati. Ganesh gayatri is the following ek dantaaya vid mahe vakra tundaaya dheemahi tanno danti prachodayaat taking the foolowing 12 names daily s supposed to appease ganapati very fast. Offering doorva- a kind of grass is recommended. 1 aum sumukhaaya namah 2 aum ek dantaaya namah 3 aum kapilaaya namah 4 aum gaj karnaaya namah 5 aum lambodaraaya namah 6 aum vikattaay namah 7 aum vighna nashaaya namah 8 aumvinaayakaaya namah 9 aumdhoomra ketave namah 10 aumganaadhyakshaaya namha 11 bhaal chandraaya namah 12 aum gajana naaya namah According to Ganapati Upnaihsad, the most simple and auspicious Ganapati mantra is Aum gam ganapataye namah This mantra I am giving is called dwatrishaakshar mantra (32 letters). This is from the brahmavaivrat puraan ansd is said to be the most dear mantra to Ganapati. I have myself trying to casually chant this mantra during serious obstacles and its power is tremendous. Shreem Hreem Kleem Ganeshwaraaya Brahma Swaroopaaya Chakhe Sarva Siddhi Pradaaya Vighneshaaya Namo Namah This mantra is supposed to be bestower of all boons and desires. Nad is the giver of 4 kinds of purushaarthas—dharma, artha, kaam, moksha. Nad yes, I am myself witness of results which are said fast like magic. If performed as sadhana 21 mala should be chanted daily till 5 lakh chant is completed. If the vijay ganapati vigrah is kept before you it is auspicious and gives better results. ( I personally do not like to have more than one ganapati at my worship place. So I manage with parad ganapati which is fine, but I have never done this properly as a sadhana. The kind of mala is not mentioned. I think there are several kinds of mala that can be used. one mala I am sure about is moonga mala (red coral rosary). I think facing east and wearing yellow (or red) in ganapati poojan is more auspicious. Another mantra called shodashakshari (16 letters). This is also to be chanted 21 mala daily till 5 lakh mantra is completed. Since it is a shorter mantra, it will take lesser time. It helps in obtaining whatever is your lakhya (aim) very fast. So perhaps using it for a specific serious problem is more recommended. Aum Gam Goum Ganapataye Vighna Vinaashine Swaahaa.
