When you read on the siddahsharam website on the various sadhanas it will mention mantra recitals as "Do 11 rounds of this mantra with this rosary". Now also on the website, it mentions that a rosary will normally contain 108 beads with 1 separator bead and you chant the mantra on each bead as you go thru. ignoring the separator bead. This would mean that on an average one needs to chant a mantra 107 times, when doing it without a rosary, for completing 1 round of the mantra. Guest guest Posted July 23, 2002 Report Share Posted July 23, 2002 - hello sunit, all rosaries contain 108+1 separator or sumeru bead. so you will have to do it 108 times without a rosary. however, if you chant without a rosary, you will find yourself concentrating more on the counting than the chanting so i strongly advice obtaining a rosary like sfatik which is good for all mantras. and you never go round and round on a rosary. when you reach the separator bead you take an about turn and go the other way. so the last bead of your first round becomes the first of your second. 107th of first becomes 2nd bead of second. nontheless doing sadhana with proper samagri is always advisable and increases chances of success. good wishes jai gurudev anu -- In , "Joshi, Sunit" <sjoshi@i...> wrote: > Hello All > Jai Gurudev! > > I just wanted a clarification.
