Guest guest
> ps: birebdra, did you like the poems i posted? and do you agree with > the translations? if not i will be happy to take into account any > improvements especially in kabeer's work i really love those poems, so much truth is reavled in such short poems so rythmatically, i really enjoy them when in a spectator state, the modifications of this world are tiring when compared to pleasent state when one is with ones Gurudev or when one is contemplating on the knowledge given by him. some day i would interanalise those poems, and they would be part of my soul. kabirs hindi is kind of different, but i come to a overall fuzzy conclusion(as i dont understand some words of the poem)that i could not have translated better than that, in such a brevity. the way you put the translation is very good and commendable. good work, hope you come into this type of kabir moods and post those translations every now and then. anyway i was busy past few days and will post some interesting things in future. Thank you, for the compliment I snatched from you. Mogambo khush hua! "the way you put the translation is very good and commendable. good work, hope you come into this type of kabir moods and post those translations every now and then." oh I was just in poetic mood, they come and go, you see moon is in cancer these days: -) "anyway i was busy past few days and will post some interesting things in future." sure we look forward to them anyway, I will post a few more as gift to you . Members who do not enjoy such stuff are requested to ignore this mail. This is from meena kumari –the beautiful actress. She seems to have so much pain in her and so much talent too. there is really no relation between beauty and happiness in life. Yet women run after it hoping to capture the special magic with it, sometimes called love. aaGaaz to hotaa hai anjaam nahii.n hotaa aaGaaz to hotaa hai anjaam nahii.n hotaa jab merii kahaanii me.n vo naam nahii.n hotaa (there is start, but no destination. Without his name my story is and will be incomplete) [aaGaaz = start; anjaam = end/result] jab zulf kii kaalikh me.n ghul jaaye ko_ii rahii bad_naam sahii lekin gum_naam nahii.n hotaa (a traveler dissolved in the blackness of tresses, may come to disrepute but is never lost in the unknown) [kaalikh = blackness] ha.Ns ha.Ns ke javaa.N dil ke ham kyo.n na chune.n Tuka.De har shaKhs kii qismat me.n inaam nahiin hotaa (if I do not pick pieces of my broken heart with a smile, I have no choice. Not everyone in this world wins the race to get the prize) bahate hue aa.Nsuu ne aa.Nkho.n se kahaa tham kar jo mai se pighal jaaye vo jaam nahii.n hotaa ( flowing tears said to my eyes in despair, that which melts with wine can not be true intoxication) din Duube hai.n yaa Duubii baaraat liye kashtii saahil pe magar ko_ii koharaam nahiin hotaa (be it the setting of the day, or that of a boat carrying the cheer for a wedding, you do not see the signs of much hoped disturbance at the harbour I cling to) could not do justice. Actually each language has its own beauty. It is very tough to translate the right spirit. duniyaa jise kahate hai.n jaaduu kaa khilonaa hai Nida Fazli duniyaa jise kahate hai.n jaaduu kaa khilonaa hai mil jaaye to miTTii hai kho jaaye to sonaa hai (what is called this world, is a magical toy. If you get it then it's value is no more than mud. If lost it's more precious than gold) achchhaa saa koii mausam tanahaa saa koii aalam har vaqt aa ronaa to bekaar kaa ronaa hai (we go through life endlessly waiting for that special season, the moment in peace. This is a constant longing, but a useless longing) barasaat kaa baadal to diivaanaa hai kyaa jaane kis raah se bachanaa hai kis chhat ko bhigonaa hai (the pregnant cloud in the sky is intoxicated in its own self, who knows who will come under that magical shower?) Gam ho ki Khushii dono.n kuchh der ke saathii hai.n phir rastaa hii rastaa hai ha.Nsanaa hai na ronaa hai (be it pain or be it pleasure, they are both companions in this long journey for a short while. Then nothing but the path remains, no pleasure and no pain) here that is my favourite site for those who like this stuff http://www.urdupoetry.com/ jai gurudev
