Guest guest
JAI GURUDEV Here are some questions and there probable answers. Q: Are there over 900 groups suffering from virus attacks similar to those happened here at ISSPLIST? A: No. That was a typo. Actually there are more that 900 such messages in many groups. To find out some of them, visit: http://www.google.com/search? q=+site:+gazingamy&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&filter=0 (Some search results might be hidden to avoid duplicates) Reference: Message 2646 posted on Tue 6/18/2002 apparently from gazingamy Unfortunately, many such messages have been deleted from ISSPLIST. If there are anymore such messages, they all can be traced very easily using Google and searches. Many more such things can be found using AltaVista. In many other (specifically Hindu and Christian religious groups) more such messages can be found. Q: I believe, a member of this group is responsible for this. How may I confirm? A: That is very much possible. First, extract the IP from such a message and trace it. If you think, that member is forging IPs then support can help you. Even if that person is forging IPs, his/her real IP is logged onto servers along with the respective IDs (if used). If that person is using a ID then a compaint can be registered with . If found guilty, that person will be banned from using any of 's services. Q: How such events can be prevented? A: Unmoderated where 'Anyone is allowed to post' (like ISSPLIST) are the easiest targets. A few changes in group policies can avoid such situations. First, Allow only members to post. This way the moderator can keep track of all the activities. Secondly, email attachments MUST NOT be allowed as most viruses are spread through attachments. Thirdly, some resposible people should be made moderators so that they can make sure no inappropriate message gets through. Q: I believe, a person is using multiple identities and abusing this group. How may I confirm? A: Like I said before, extract and compare IPs. If you think IPs are being forged, contact support. has the logs of real IPs and the people at DO NOT TOLERATE ABUSE. They will certainly help you. I hope, all the questions will find their answers with solid proof. Guest guest
JAI GURUDEV My dearest of the dearest Birendra... > no one has asked ashish to stay out, he is doing > it, on his own will And no one ever said that anyone has told me to stay out. Shastriji was saying that I should stop proving my innocence. That's all. > just show me one mail, which shows directly or indirectly > that states ashish to stay out? Speaking of showing; this is the one which clearly and directly shows your feelings towards me. Why didn't you simply ignore this mail? > i entierly feel this whole exercise is unnecessary, lets > put to rest this whole thing, it dosent serve any purpose, Then, perhaps, you would help me understand, what purpose your mail was intended to solve? Moreover, Shailesh also wrote the same thing. You ignored his mail. I feel, you should have ignored this mail if you feel it was unnecessary. > many people including me have many times apperciated > ashish work And I am thankful to everyone. Appreciation certainly boosts one's energy. > have asked him to come back Yes, many members have asked me to return; Anu, Anurag, Anupam, Rohit, Charanjit, Kashyap, Shel, Seren, Geeta didi and many others. Shailesh still mails me, at least twice a month, asking to return. But, I must say, I HAVE NOT GOT EVEN A SINGLE MAIL FROM YOU IN THIS REGARD. I am not saying that you should have mailed me; all I am trying to say that I feel, you don't like the idea of my re- apprearence in this group. > pls stop discussing this topic I agree with you. Discussions on this topic must be stopped. Discussions must also be stopped on the topics of spamming IP forging etc. By the way, do you have any memory of Thursday, January 24, 2002? I have a mail sent by you to one of my gurubahan on that day which loudly tells that you are a messenger of god, a saint, a person with a pure heart and most of all, a great disciple of Dr. Narayan Dutt Shrimali. Would you like me to post a few more details on that matter? > there are other persons , who are trying to do it also..., > this not about an individual , its more about a group effort. Correct. But, saying something good about an individual doesn't harm the spirit of the group. I wonder, what made you write all this unnecessary stuff. > > jay bharat > > jay maharashtra > as spiritualism is not confined to any country or any > state, pls refrain from this remarks, with all due respect, > i am not trying to say that showing your patriotism to > state or country is wrong, it is very much required, but > what is the necessaity of it over here? Would you accuse Anu of having an agenda on Hindutva when she says 'Ram, Ram'? I guess, you won't. Likewise 'Jai Bharat, Jai Maharashtra' is simply a gesture of greeting widely used in many parts of Maharashtra. Moreover, this is a public forum and everyone has the right to use such remarks. Please note, you are not the one who controls the universe. > we are here to see if we can do anything about peoples personal > problems, besides self development. Patriotism is a vital part of self-developement. > but pls dont do these... I intend to do it on regular basis. > i wish not to write or discuss abt this You better not.
