Vipassana

Visesena Patshya Iti Vipassana

Specially watching/observing is Vipassana

I had lived in an Ashram (with cooking assignment) for thriteen months and

had a colleague Bhikchu who was a Vipassana Practicing person and have the

following info.

As explined above Vipassana is method of Meditation with much emphasis on

detachment and meditation porcess similar to Guru Dev's teachings (refer

Samdhi Ke Saat Dwar - Audio Cassette available at Guru Dham). The

difference(s) I found are:

a. Vipassana - Your mind base should be detachement.

Guru Dev - Your mind base should be devotion (to your Guru Dev)

in the form of Shraddha - not Bhakti.

b. Vipassana prescribes your concentration starting from Agya Chhakra

(Forehead Center) down ward to all Chakras and beyond Mula Dhaar Chhakra

towards your feet and beyond.

Whereas Guru Dev has instructed your concentration starting from Agya Chakra

to Mulaa Dhaar Chhakra and come back to Agya Chakra

c. Vipassana - Pranayam is the same but the beginning part. The term used

is Ana Pana.

Guru Dev strongly insist that you perform Bhashrika Pranayam in the

beginning.

May Sat Guru Dev bless you.
