Guest guest
Dear Members, Please guide me: I was adviced to do Mrityunjaya Mantra for 40 Days. The 40 days are going to complete on 3rd January 2003. i was told not to take onion and garlic food. I was not going out and avoiding to eat out strictly. Today, 1st Jan, 2002, I went to a chinese restaurant with some relatives, which i just couldn't avoid. I took most care in selecting the food w/o onion and garlic. But after the dinner i came to know that one dish had garlic in it. I just came back 2 min. ago. I am worried. --------------------- NOW PLEASE ADVICE...!!! WILL ALL THE EFFORT GO WASTE? WILL I HAVE TO START THE MANTRA SADHNA ALL OVER AGAIN? OR IS THERE ANY WAY TO SAVE ALL MY EFFORT? b'coz i have already completed 38 days out of 40 days. --------------------- please tell me wat to do. thanks in advance. an inquisitive beginer Mail Plus - Powerful. Guest guest
Dear Bro: I'd urge you to complete the 40 days whether or not you took onion and garlic. And then you can see for yourself whether you get the results, and how much results you would get. Onion and garlic are sexual stimulants and are associated with the Rajo Guna, hence it's required to avoid them while doing Sadhanas. However, I believe the impact on the results depends on the Sadhana. For some sadhanas, you would still get partial results, and I believe even partial results are better than no result at all. I'd recommend that you call Delhi or Jodhpur and ask them directly what the impact would be. My personal opinion would be that you would still get partial results, but it's only an opinion and not an authoritative statement. The centers at Delhi and Jodhpur would be able to guide you here. But we certainly need to learn the lesson that we need to protect the sadhana very carefully, as much as we need to perform the sadhana regularly. For instance, if you had said 'no' to your relatives inviting you to the Chinese restaurant, then perhaps they would have gotten mad at you and started saying things, but you would probably get 100% results of the sadhana, which is probably worth the risk of making relatives a little angry for a while. Later on, the relatives might calm down and everything would be fine, but the effects of the sadhana is permanent. Secondly, no effort ever goes waste. Even if we fail once or a few times, if we try hard enough, eventually we will certainly be successful. Vishwamithra failed 21 times in his penances, but never gave up, and eventually became a Brahma-Rishi thanks to his strong determination to succeed in spite of repeated failures. Guest guest
i agree that onion and garlic increase rajo gun and thats one of the reasons one is asked to avoid them. There might be others too i guess. don't get worried that u had eaten it. Worrying will bring no good. ask for forgiveness from the concerned Diety and Pujya Gurudev and continue with ur Sadhana. and be very careful if someone suggetsed maha mrityuanjaya japa then do it with full devotion and sincerity. I was asked to do once but then i thought how can i be harmed and when it happened i didn't even knew that i was caught in the loop. later i had to suffer a lot. > >mystical_wine <cosmic_1728 >[cosmic_1728] >Thursday, January 02, 2003 4:15 AM > > Re: Guidance Needed: Most Urgent > > >Dear Bro: > >I'd urge you to complete the 40 days whether or not you took onion >and garlic. Guest guest
Manuj, pl. do let us know what gurudham says on this thing. I guess every one faces this one time or the other. As suggested by Anurag etc.. finishing sadhana is the best way in such cases unless this happens during the first few days from the start. Tks, Ravi. --- bajaj manuj <m_bajaj_2000 wrote: > Thanks a trillion ton. > > that made me feel better. > > i wud still call kohat, delhi to confirm. > > thanx again > > an inquisitive beginer > > > > > "Goel, Anurag (CORP, GEITC)" > > <anurag.goel wrote: > > i agree that onion and garlic increase rajo gun > and > > thats one of the reasons one is asked to avoid > them. > > There might be others too i guess. > > > > don't get worried that u had eaten it.
