Though there will be some degree of loss which may be quite negligible. If the file is too big, it may never get uploaded, else users might never download it (due the amount of time it takes) so it will not meet its purpose. I did not meant zipping, it's another way of reducing the size. I managed to reduce the size of a 5.mb MP3 tp 800kb.
