The info you have quoted is correct going by the texts like Nityotsava, Tantra raaja tantra, shaaradaa tilakam, shree vidyaarnavam etc. This is widely accepted and practiced also. When discussing various topics with Shree AbhinavOddhanda nrsinha Bhaarathi swaamigal of the Bhuvaneshwari (gaayathri) peetam of Hampi (Vijayanagar), I was told that grhasthas (householders) should worship the Shrichakram made out of pancha loha only. The golden one (normally bhoo-prasthaara) must be used for prathistha of idols in temples. He further added that Shree Vidyaaranya swamigal who founded the Vijayanagar empire also used a golden bhoo prasthaara shrichakram for the shilaa-nyaas of the empire. I was blessed to have a look at the shrichakrams made out of different materials like the sphatikam, maanikya, gO-medha, vajra (diamond) etc worshipped at the Mutt. I learnt that these different chakrams are worshipped for different purposes viz sphatika srichakram for jnaana, gO-medha for mantravaada etc. But for a householder, the pancha loha is the best. regards , sudarshan balasubramanian <sudarshanbalasubramanian> wrote: > Sri Rama Jayam > > Namaskarams to all. > > I recently read somewhere about the efficacies of the Sri Chakram wherein it said that the yantrams made out of different elements have different shelflives after which pooja should not be performed to it since it loses efficacy. In the sense, the efficacy of a yantram made out of copper lasts for about 5 years while a silver sri chakram has a life of about 12 years, but those made of gold or panchaloham last for ever. Could the upasakas of this group please advice me regarding this? > > Regards, > > Sudarshan Balasubramanian --- End forwarded message ---
