Hello,

I understand that the Tantric Lakshimi Bija or beej mantra SHRING

can be pronounced as spelled :- SH as in shine. Ring as in

ring...shring...shring...shring...

Does this mean that the Vedic Lakshimi Bija or beej mantra SHRIM

can be pronounced as spelled :- SH as in shine. RiM as in "The Rim

of a wheel" or must it be the usual "SHREEM?"

Namaste,

Peter

"SHRIM" should be pronounced only as "SHREEM". Some people pronounce

it as "SHREENG" for which, there is no authentic evidence/support of

any scriptures. Similarly, "kleeng" is wrong; it is "kleem" etc.

Beeja mantras are very unique in nature and even the slightest change

leads to an altogether meaning/result.

In the Yajurveda, due to the nature of the Yajus mantras and

the "viBhakthi-prathyaya", the syllable "gam" is added to

the "anuswaara". For example, "gaNapathim" in Rgveda

becomes "gaNapathigam" in Yajurveda. This rule holds good only for

vedic mantras, each of which are characterised by:

1. swara (udaattha, anudaattha, swaritha, dheerGha-swaritha)

2. maathraa

3. kaala and,

4. chandas

Lakshmi Beej Mantra

Dear Friend,

I saw your message and the reply given to the same on this

group. It is always recommended that the mantra is received from the

mouth/in the voice of the Sada Guru Dev. The website

www.siddhashram.org has an

Audio Zone in which Several Hundred Mantras are recorded in the voice

of Revered Gurudev Dr. Narayan Dutt Shrimaliji (known in ascetic form

as Paramhans Swami Nikhileshwaranandji; The Guru Trimurthi which can

also be downloaded to your PC. By listening to the Mantra

pronunciation in Sada Guru Dev's divine voice, you will be able to

solve your problem. Also available are several audio CDs, audio tapes

which can be procured from the website for your sadhana. Please also,

read the english translation of 'Shree Guru Paduka-Panchakam and Guru

Gita' posted at this . You can chant the 'Shree Guru

Paduka- Panchakam and Guru Gita' to successfully attain your goal of

lakshmi sadhana. However, if you first get Guru Diksha from Gurudev,

which can also be done by sending your photograph to Siddhashram.org,

you can receive the true blessings of Bhagwad Pujya Pada Saad

Gurudev. We as disciples of Gurudev have our own limits and can help

you only by pointing out the right source for enlightenment! Which is

our Guru Dev. I am sure you will find this useful. Jai Gurudev!
