Hi,

For the exact count, there is a head for any mala which helps in

counting. When you reached that head it indicates one mala (55, 108

or whatever)

ND:

I don't know about the special mala. What I do is, for up to ten

malas; count the pads on the left fingers: starting with the middle

pad of the ring finger place thumbtip on it after completing one

mala; after two malas move thumb down to lowest pad, after 3 go to

base of little finger, 4 up to middle, 5 tip of little finger, 6 tip

of ring finger, 7 tip of middle finger, 8 middle pad of middle

finger, 9 base of middle finger, for 10 go to base of index.

So if you were doing say 1000 mantras what I do is get 10 beans or

grains of rice or whatever and put them in a pile next to your left

knee. Then, after 10 malas put one bean or whatever in a bowl or on

a plate. Resume counting on the middle pad of the ring finger for

your 11th mala etc up to 10 = your twentieth mala; move another bean

in to the bowl.

Works for me as long as I stay awake and remember whether I placed a

bean or not.

Jai Gurudev!

Gurudev Ki Kripa Aparampar!!

Please refer to Mantra Rahasya by gurudev on how to

count malaas.

Gurudev has told to make very small balls of cowdung

and vermillion mixed together ....and utilize to count

no. of rounds....... and not to use other things like

sticks, or grains etc..
