Go and talk to them. This is an unfortunate trend. Relying on mantras for simple things like these is an unfortunate situation.Mantras are to be used only to worship devatas and not for such things. Prayogas are mentioned, but only to be used when there is no other way and only in cases of extreme danger when all other effort doesnt bear fruit.
