normally auspicious for vishnu pooja, in any of his forms.

follow whatever fast you can - meal once a day, celibacy or give up

something for a month. surfing is also OK!

of course, nothing can be more auspicious than an extra month of

saavan devoted to lord shiva. worshipping both shiva and vishnu

during the entire saavan period ( 2 month) will lead to destruction

of sins, solve problems and lead to fulfilmnet of desires.

thanks for the reminder again. i had not bothered to check, i will

start worshipping both supreme lords right away!!

 

one more comment - amavasya of adhik maas is as auspicious as

diwali; poornima as holi. and every day can be celebrated as the

corresponding holy tithi from throughout the year. will give the

same punya with some interest!
