Guest guest
jaya gurudev, It depends on how much time you can give to the sadhana each day and how long the mantra is. some sadhanas need specific days and time. Like someone mentioned before about Kaal Gyan Mantra. It is really two pages long and may take more than 5 min just to chant once. So to do a purashchran of Kaal Gyan Mantra, I have no idea how anyone will be able to do it in a short time. It may take years... For guru mantra purashcharan (guru mantra is short), you can do 56 rounds per day for 21 days or any number of days as long as you keep equal number of rounds per day. Always do few more rounds at the end so as to cover for any miss counts and 10% ahuti (homa)if possible. The first time I did it in 11 days reciting the mantra 108 rounds daily as I didn't have school or work. (of course not all at once but in a day) Nowadays it's even hard to get 1 hour free time, to many assignments and work . One more thing about this is, if you are doing purashcharan to get a siddhi, it completely depends on what spiritual level you are in at the time of sadhana. But as someone here posted before, no matter you get siddhi or not, any sadhana generates energy that helps you to get more concentration, to get rid of our bad karma and in kundalini activation. That is why Diksha is very important because diksha helps remove or reduce your bad karma through Guru's energy and you can get success in sadhana a lot quicker and easier. It is always good if you can dedicate more time in mantra jap specially if one is a beginner because physical concentration(doing same thing for hours) helps mind to concentrate as well. I read in MTY magazine that some sadhak got some siddhi after doing the same sadhana for years...
