Motivated by Dhirendra's enthusiastic efforts, I have compiled this glossary. I

am also uploading it to the files section. Suggestions are welcome.

Thanks .. I am honoured...

Do you think it makes sense to also add words which are in english and

then put their hindi meaning.. for sadhaks like me who dosent have too

good english...for example the word "vermilion " I really had to ask

from someone to get the hindi equivalent of it.. and to be honest I

again dont remember it..

writes "Sad" Gurudev

 

Beacaue when reading it appears as though guruji is

sad....

 

I can understand the word is written in Roman form.

that's new. i never thought of that. new language brings new horizon in mind.

Actually the alternative to sad would be sat.

Satgurudev is more accurate as the word came from sat + guru +dev.

Later people started calling Sadgurudev.

gurudev is sad because we are not doing all we can :-( just a thought.

Sad means he short form of sadachar or the good path.It

really means a good or a great guru.d in sad is not D but Dh

Dear Yogiman,

 

Thanks a lot for you input.

 

I think you have most rightly pointed out to say

Satgurudev.....coz.....Sad Gurudve (when reading it, i

always read as sad...as in english..and may be many of

our non-hindi-knowing gurughais also get confused like

me).
