Guest guest
Hi, Angie you might want to learn a little bit of Sanskrit. The problem is that in English all the sounds are not present. So if you convert hindi to english or vise versa there will always be some mis - match. As said already before by someone, its is the only language in the world (yes I am saying it correct, and verified by Nasa) that is un-ambiguous, so one thing can only be written in one way, can be said in one way only too. http://sanskrit.gde.to/learning_tools/learning_tools.html is a good place to start with. Actually there is another site, from where you can either download the software, or online translate form English to hindi. Site is http://www.omkarananda-ashram.org/Sanskrit/Itranslt.html And plus their font, sanskrit 2003 is marvellous. Its the best Devnagri font I have seen till now... Hope this helps.. Dp Hello thanks for that it s a very interesting program. But the ones of us who dont speak any indian language? namaste , Khatri Anand <khatrianand> wrote: Jai Gurudev. Dear Gurubandhus and Bhaganis, Greetings !! Its always a problem to know the exact pronounciation of MANTRA written using English. Sanskrit is the only language which is written and read exactly the same, and all mantras can be written using Devnagri script. Here is a simple way to do it. There is a freeware called Baraha, available at http://www.baraha.com We can write/type in english, and the screen starts showing in Devanagri script / sanscrit fonts, which will remove the ambiguity of pronounciation of mantras, plus we can use local words in hindi/ sanskrit for ayurvedic things etc, without bothering to know its name in english !! Its free, each one of us can download this software locally, and the messages can be attached with ..brh (baraha file), which can be downloaded and viewed in baraha for devnagri font. supported scripts are as below Script Languages ========================================== Kannada Kannada, Konkani, Tulu Devanagari Hindi, Marathi, Sanskrit, Nepali, Konkani, Kashmiri, Sindhi Tamil Tamil Telugu Telugu Malayalam Malayalam =========================================== Sample examples and help are also provided !! kindly tryout, and pls give your feedback. On the audio recording, which is found here: http://www.siddhashram.org/audio1.shtml#m12 the individual saying it says it like ""Vit-tesh-wa-raay." It's like He adds the "h" to "tesh" instead of saying it like "Vit-tes-wa- raay." Which way is the correct pronunciation. I asked my father and he said most likely the way He says it in the recording is accurate. Please help me. Thanks. Murugesh. Mail - now with 250MB free storage.
