Later on I also purchased Guru Yantra , Parad Guru Paaduka and Sfatik Rosary and started worshipping them also. Some days after I also asked my younger brother to take Guru Diksha and then he also took it. Both of us now chant Guru,Chetna and Gayatri Mantra. Now in this navratra I want to accomplish 1.25 lakh of Guru Mantra Jap. Please tell me whether to start it on Thursday, i.e, on amavashya i.e one day before navratra as guru sadhna is always started on thursday or to start it on friday , the first day of navratra. Eclipse starts at 11:30 pm on 8th april and ends at 4: 50 AM on 9th April. During this period if you do Guru mantra recitation of 21 rounds (21 mala japa) i will be equivalent to more than 2 lacs of mantra recitation: And if you want to utilise this golden opportunity to the maximum then recite gurumantra Japa for whole of the eclipse period. 100 round will count equal to 1 MILLION recitation of Guru matra Japa. Continue this during Navrartras and you can perform the grand Purushacharan of 12.5 lacs mantara Japa. There is nothing like this. No amount of glory, dazzling words or magificent sentences can explain/describe the results and benifits of this Maha-Anushthan. Remember Gurudev in whatever way or form is never go waste. This is best time, with Gurudev you will also get the grace of mother. So go ahead.
