Guest guest
Dear List members, The one and the only Bhagwat Gita that I read was of the Isckon . The book was all fine but the caption or notes for verses kept on harping that Shiva was a demi-god. I was I think 15 years old at that time and this did not seem right to me. Why was Siva called MahaDev if he was not the MAHA DEV? Why was Krishna/Vishnu not called MAHA DEV? Over time, I have found out that not only Hare Krishna movement but quite a lotr of Vaishnavas simply do not like the idea of someone praying Siva. I started serious Siva bhakti only recently but even before that, my blood would boil when I listened to such claims. So anytime I see such arguments happening, I just get myself away from there. But one thing I can say...Hare Krishna movement is made up of fundamentalistics. I just dislike every bit of them and try not to think about them....but I would respect Vishnu as much as I would respect Siva....I dare not compare between them, I just stick to Siva becuase for some reason, I have more afinity towards Siva. Best way to tackle Hare Krishna movement is not to pay any heed to them...they will have to reaslise at the end that they are barking all on their own and no one is listening.
