Guest guest
Hi, I know about yoga just a bit . I do some exercise from my yoga videotape. I searched Internet and found this site. I want to study and practice yoga, but I don't know right way to start. Is it right site I am in? About myself- I am Russian, moved to Philadelphia 6 month ago. Work for U of Penn as a Mental Health Councilor. Now you understand why I am so interested in Yoga. I would appreciate friendly advice. Sincerely, Donlit. Guest guest
Welcome Serge, This site is dedicated to Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi, the South Indian saint who lived on and around Arunachala Hill in the first half of the 20th century. In a nutshell we might say that His teaching is a pure, gentle and powerful method used to eradicate the ego and reveal the underlying reality which is the Self of all. (atma) However his talks and instruction covered all aspects of the Yogic paths (margas). While he was not a Hatha Yogi as such, although many of his devotees were, he was able to answer all their questions about 'Yoga'. Please ask your questions and we will see if someone here is able to share their experiences with you. Or we can point to Ramana's statements. I feel sure that Ramana's teaching will be of benefit irrespective of the type of Yoga you are following. If it is Hatha Yoga in particular which you are interested in then perhaps you should join the Hatha Yoga Onelist club at: hathayoga- Regards Miles -------------------------- >on 27/3/00 10:22 pm, Serge Litvinov at donlit wrote: > Hi, I know about yoga just a bit .
