Dear Fellow devotees,

I was in Sri Ramanasramam during the first week of March 2000. Though I

stayed for one week I did not plan giripradakshina due to health reasons.

One day before my departure, at about 9.00 PM I was resting in the ashram

room in the bed. Suddenly I got an impulse that I should do giripradakshina

immediately. I decided to do it and went to "old hall", prayed to Bhagavan

and started the pradakshina (I was told that devotees used to offer namskar

to Sri Bhagavan and inform Him of the pradakshina before they proceeded.

Even now many devotees go to old hall before they take up giripradakshina)

Within one mile, on the route, I joined three other devotees who were also

on pradakshina. During conversation I came to know that one of them was

from Hangary. I asked him how he came to know about Sri Bhagavan. He told me

that when he visited a friend in Germany he happened to see a book. When he

opened the book he found the photograph of Sri Bhagavan. The moment he saw

the photograph something happened to him and he felt that he should know

about the man who appeared like Christ with full of compassion. He has gone

through the book and within one month visited Sri Ramanasramam and stayed

more than a month in Tiruvannamalai. He stated that he became a better

Christian after he came in to the fold of Sri Bhagavan.

When I inquired about the book he came across, he informed that the book was

" Living by the words of Bhagavan" by David Goodman and it was available

only in Sri Annamalai Swami Ashram trust( located adjacent to Sri

Ramanasramam) and not in Ramanasramam book store.

It was about Sri Annamalai Swami's life. The next day I purchased the book

and read it subsequently. It is a treasure house for all devotees of Sri

Bhagavan. It contained information, not available in many other

publications. There were incidents which brought tears to my eyes, and many

times I had to put down the book and go in to self-inquiry. It was strange

that I did not come across any information about the book though I was

scanning the books available at Sri Ramana kendram Hyderabad( India )for

over

a decade. I strongly believe that it was Sri Bhagavan who brought it to my

notice.

I would like to add few more words about the devotee whom I met on the

giripradakshina route. The information he gave me on Bhagavan's life and on

incidents in the lives of some devotees, astonished me and put me to shame

as what I could not pick up in 10 years he picked up in one year.

During the giripradakshina I observed him going to the side way for a few

minutes

and coming and joining us again. When he went to the side way again I

remarked to his other friends whether it was due to Jaundice (He told me

that he was recovering from an attack of Jaundice) that he was easing

himself so frequently. Their reply surprised me again. Recently the whole

giripradakshina route is illumined

with powerful lights and when you walk on the route, due to the glaring of

the lights, you do not have a clear view of Sri Arunaachala. This man wants

to enjoy the view of Arunaachala closely avoiding the glare of the lights.

He wanted to enjoy the beauty of Arunaachala from different angles.

Blessed are those who become so strongly devoted in such a short time.

Yours in Sri Bhagavan

I have not posted here before and as of late I have lost interest in reading

the majority of my email messages received from other . Don't know

why I was drawn to your post, but would like to thank you as it was 'heart

felt' in the reading. Surprisingly, as I read the last paragraph, I got

'goose bumps'!

Just for the sharing ~ with Love,
