Om Namo Bhagavate Sri Ramanaya

Dear Mihir,

The meaning of this verse composed by Bhagavan

Sri Ramana is explained in the book "The collected

works of Ramana Maharshi" by Sri Arthur Osborne.

(Published by Sri Ramansramam, Tiruvannamalai). The

English version of the verse as given in the book is

reproduced below.

In the innermost core, the Heart

Shines as Brahman alone,

As 'I-I', the Self aware.

Enter deep into the Heart

By searching for Self, or diving deep,

with breath under check.

Thus abide ever in Brahman.

This verse also appears as the second verse in

Chapter II of Ramana Gita.

Another translation in prose style, from the book

'Ramana Gita' with commentary by Sri A R Natarajan

published by the Ramana Maharshi Centre for Learning,

Bangalore is given below.

"In the center of the Heart-cave, Brahman Shines

alone.

It is the form of Self explained as "I-I'. Enter the

Heart, through self-enquiry or merging or

breath-control and become as That."

Yours in Sri Bhagavan,

Suri
