Guest guest
Dear Miles, When I tried to open the file self-enquiry (not Vicki's, but yours I think) it asks what program do I want to open it with, and this is not clear to many people what to use. So then I tried to just download it, and then put it onto Harsha's files. The first part was readable, but the end was gibberish, not even English letters. Could you add to the description, the correct program to open with? Or perhaps putting it into Word might be even more helpful? Thank you, and I apologize for my incompetence. Guest guest
Hi Vicki and Gloria, It's an HTML file (the kind you open with a browser) but it's a little bit damaged The original of the file is at this address on the Sri Ramanasramam site so you might as well just go over there and copy it: http://www.ramana-maharshi.org/selfenq.htm The file contains an illustration in the form of a link to a separate GIF file, and you'll probably lose the illustration when you make the copy. Guest guest
Dear Gloria, As Rob has pointed out this file should simply open in your browser. It was copied from the Ramana Maharshi site. It's been there a while and it won't open for me either. Sorry for the inconvenience, I shall delete it. Thank you Rob for providing the link to the file. Kind Regards, Miles > > Dear Miles, > > When I tried to open the file self-enquiry (not Vicki's, but yours I > think) it asks what program do I want to open it with, and this is > not clear to many people what to use. Guest guest
Dear All, I've checked the other files and found that they will open here when downloaded with Internet Explorer but not with Netscape 6. Unfortunately I can't check Vicki's as I don't have Word. I trust there is no problem there though. Perhaps someone could confirm this. Here is an interesting link which gives many quotes from Sri Bhagavan. http://www.hinduism.org.za/ Regards Miles
Guest guest
Dear Vicki, If that format will make Sri Ramana's teachings accessible to more people then what could be better. Ever Yours in Sri Bhagavan, Miles -- ³ ISvarah sarvabhUtAnAm hriddeSe 'rjuna tishThati ² (Sri Bhagavan says,) ³The Lord is seated in the hearts of all beings, O Arjuna.² (Bhagavad Gita: 18. 61)
Guest guest
Dear Miles, Some of the files don't open here with Internet Explorer 5.5. The browser is mystified and puts up a screen asking me which program to use. I think if you change the file names to include the extensions (html or whatever), they will work fine. The affected files are: BhagavanRamana SpiritualInstruction WoamI YogaVasishta The two files from Vicki open without problems. Guest guest
Dear Rob, Thanks very much for checking them out. However, rather than causing members problems and since these are readily available at www.ramana-maharshi.org it is just as well to simply delete them from the RamanaMaharshi eGroup site.
