This sound like I am trying to sell you something, but

I am only sharing my joy in being able to sit for as

long as I wish without hurting my knees or back.

 

So here it is: The ergonomic knee seat model KC 247

from Work Smart. Your local office supply company

should have it in stock.

 

I formerly was able to sit in full lotus for 55

minutes in excrutiating pain and about 1 hour and 45

minutes also with much pain at the finish. Then my

knee started to hurt because I sat in an bhadda

konasana, sometimes an hour at a time.

 

Now with this fantastic seat I am doing 2 hours with

no pain that could cause nerve damage or chronic back

problems. I see no limit on how long you can sit now.

Your butt may hurt but that is all.

 

We used to study with Aiken Roshi and he did not let

his students do more that 1/2 sitting at a time,

bacause he told us that many people who sit in full

lotus for more than that develop nerve damage.

 

Also, I have never been able to meditate for longer

that a few minutes before bed time. Now, the other day

I did 1 hour and 50 minutes with out dozing off.

The aforementioned seat keeps you awake too.
