Guest guest
That's really the ultimate nutshell of it, isn't it. The first sentence. It's odd, how many people seem to misunderstand. - "Miles Wright" <ramana.bhakta <RamanaMaharshi> Saturday, August 18, 2001 5:09 PM [RamanaMaharshi] This is jnAna > > tAvadeva niroddhavyam yAvaddhrdi gatam kshayam > etajjnAnam ca dhyAnam ca Sesho nyAyaSca vistarah > > The mind must be checked, then it becomes lost in the Heart. > This is jnAna and this is dhyAna, the rest is mere argument and description. > > om SAntih SAntih SAntih > harih om > > Post message: RamanaMaharshi > Subscribe: RamanaMaharshi- > Un: RamanaMaharshi- > List owner: RamanaMaharshi-owner > > Shortcut URL to this page: > /community/RamanaMaharshi > > Your use of is subject to > >

Guest guest
Dear Miles, I like your translation much better than the published ones by Georg Feuerstein and K. Narayanasvami Aiyar. Have you translated the whole Upanishad? Guest guest
Dear Rob, Thank you. I am pleased you like it. I have read it many times and normally translate it as I read, if necessary. I have never made a formal translation of it. Ever Yours in Sri Bhagavan, Miles Dear Miles, I like your translation much better than the published ones by Georg Feuerstein and K. Narayanasvami Aiyar. Guest guest
Dear Miles, If you should feel from time to time an impulse to translate other bits and post them, of this or other scriptures, it would be delightful. Guest guest
Dear Vicki, There are letters in Sanskrit that require diacritics when transliterated. Unfortunately they don't email. The capital letters represent letters such as long vowels and retroflex letters.
