Re: [RamanaMaharshi] Who was self-realized?

Hello Gomu,

The reason I asked was because realized

disciples of Bhagavan are in an especially

good position to offer comments that help

us learn the technique of self-inquiry.

I observed this while reading the biographies

that David Godman has written of three

self-realized disciples of Bhagavan.

I asked because I want to find more writings

of that sort.

____________

Dear Rob,

This is somewhat different, but it is written accounts by disciples.

You are likely already familiar with the websites

dedicated to Bhagavan. I mention this particular one because it has a section of

descriptions of first encounters or disciples interactions with Ramana, many of

which had remarkable immediate realizations or insights. Reading one after

another gives some flavor of what it was like to be in the presence of Bhagavan.

Just keep scrolling down past the biography till you find where they begin.

Thanks, Gloria, that's a great site.

By the way, I tried to look at the

one you recommended the other day --

http://www.leelaa.net/ -- but there's

a note saying that all the "free stuff"

that used to be there has been removed

for legal reasons.

Rob,

Namaskar! At one time Leela.net offered audio

recordings of Satsang with Robert but another group of

devotees sent a letter asking them to take them off

the website or they would take legal action.

The recording were wondreful the fragrance of

Robert's being was delightful. Robert was a true

jnani.

Rob,

Was the story there at all for you? Maybe my browser just has it in memory

cache. If you want that one story that comes up for me, I can email it. It just

seemed it would be easier to read there.

With regard to Vicky's files and legal stuff, our little unknown email list does

not turn up on any web search, like a webpage would. I wrote her on Harsha's

list about fair use. Mostly, I am concerned that she feel at peace.

With love,

Gloria

Hi Gloria,

Oh, the cache! I couldn't figure it out,

you must be right. There was no story

when I looked. If you would e-mail it to me,

I'd really appreciate it.

About the copyright -- I'm glad you mentioned

peace, I hope I didn't make Vicki upset. I

probably did, unnecessarily. I'm sorry.

There's nothing to be upset about. You're

right that Penguin probably won't notice.

And if they do, all that will happen is, Penguin

will write a letter to asking to

remove the files. From their point of view,

at the very worst, this is a very small thing.

But still, it seems to me a bit of a stretch to

call this fair use. Maybe the most peaceful

thing would be to write to David and ask if he

can arrange for permission to be given?

Love,

Rob
