Guest guest
Hello, I went to Arunachala on Friday. I had a nice time at the old shrine. I had nice satsanghs and went for Giri Pradakshana in the night. I was thinking of the people in this list. I cannot describe how I feel that I have been abundantly blessed by having met so many great people and being in touch with so many devotees. It is nothing but pure unlimited Grace. With love, Gomu. ===== --------------- Email: gokulmuthu Webpage: http://www.geocities.com/gokulmuthu/ Phone: Chennai: +91 44 4466448, +91 44 4466449 Bangalore: +91 80 6689904, +91 80 6689938 Residence: +91 44 8140104 --------------- Make international calls for as low as $.04/minute with Messenger http://phonecard./
Guest guest
om namo bhagavate SrI ramaNAya Namaste dear Vicki, I am sure Gomu and others who have been to aruNAcala will endorse what I have written below. I dont see any problem with your traveling to aruNAcala with children. I have seen several visitors from various parts of the globe, spending their time at Sri Ramanasramam along with their children. I have seen young mothers blissfully watching their children play around in the Ashram and particpate in the daily routine of chanting, pradakshina round the Bhagavan's samadhi and the arati (The arati ritual can be briefly explained as follows: The priest waves a flame of lit camphor to the samadhi as devotees watch with attention. Later the arati light/camphor flame is brought to the devotees assembled and they touch the the cool flame and apply their palms to their eyes. Devotees also apply the sacred ash on the arati plate, on their forehead.) Please don't deny your children the opportunity to visit Arunachala and the Ashram. You will be able to find affordable, clean and simple accomodation and sufficient guidance to meet your neccessities to make your stay comfortable. You can correspond with Sri Ramanasramam by email and take their guidance to plan your trip. There are times when the town of Arunachala is very crowded. On every full moon day about half a million devotees do pradakshina round the Hill on bare foot covering 14 km. On those days traveling to and back can be problem. You will need to plan your travel from Chennai to Arunachala (The Tamil name is Tiruvannamalai). Surely when you are ready to travel get in touch with the Ashram. Yours ever in Sri Bhagavan, suri ====== Viorica Weissman <viorica wrote: hello Gomu , good to hear your news. Does anyone know how is it to travel with children to Tiruvannamalai ? Only once in my life I travelled without the children, I went to Romania to visit my family there for a week . It was terrible , I felt such a dispair to travel alone and leave them home that I counted the hours until the fly back. I don't want to repeat the experience . vicki. > Hello, > > I went to Arunachala on Friday. I had a nice time at the old > shrine. I had nice satsanghs and went for Giri Pradakshana in the > night. Guest guest
om namo bhagavate SrI ramaNAya Namaste dear Vicki, I think August should be Ok and second half of July, not too bad. I was there for a couple of days in the middle of July and it was very bearable. Will give you a more detailed picture in a later mail. Going to aruNAcala ramaNA is a frame of mind, a longing. [ Initially you go to aruNAcala ramaNA. When your call for Him with your heart is intense, aruNAcala ramaNA comes to you and is fully established in your heart. Then you are forever in aruNAcala.] What I have enclosed within the square brackets is my faith. I fully believe that it is the authentic experience of great devotees who had fully surrendered to Him. Yours ever in Sri Bhagavan, suri ====== Viorica Weissman <viorica wrote: Dear Sri Suri , I have a few more questions about Arunachala, maybe you or somebody else could help. about july-august ------------------ How hot is it in these months and which month is better? what is the ususal temperature during the day and during the night ? Does one has to drink a lot of water ? I have as reference the Dead Sea and the desert around it in the middle of the summer and I would like to compare Arunachala climate to this climate to know if we could spend a few weeks at Arunachala in this period and our bodies could function properly and enjoy the trip. [ not that would matter very much , just curiosity ; if I really have no other possibility but july-august then july-august it will be ] vicki Post message: RamanaMaharshi Subscribe: RamanaMaharshi- Un: RamanaMaharshi- List owner: RamanaMaharshi-owner Shortcut URL to this page: /community/RamanaMaharshi Send a newsletter, share photos & files, conduct polls, organize chat events.
