With its varying paths and search for the Ultimate Truth, Hinduism is well suited to great diversity, and offers individual freedom of consciousness, as well as feeling part of a wider and collective whole. Unfortunately, due to many years of less enlightened political and social domination, Hindus have become inflexible and dogmatic in their approach, tribalistic in nature. This is not in keeping with Hindu tradition. To rectify this, Vedic Outreach encourages and welcomes seekers of Truth into the Hindu family(west and east), by undertaking the following Eleven Point Programme: (1) Official and recognised conversion (shuddi) to Hinduism by auspicious rites. (2) Explaining Hinduism to all open minded individuals. (3) Full membership of the Hindu community without distinction of ethnicity, gender, creed (panth) or age. (4) Adoption of Vedic name if so desired. (5) Assistance to neo-Hindus to be familiar with Vedic traditions. (6) Encouragement of neo-Hindus to partake in the full affairs of their community. (7) Encouragement of neo-Hindus to take the torch of Vedic knowledge to the wider community. (8) Assistance to neo-Hindus against prejudice by others, including from dogmatic and regressive elements among Hindus. (9) Reform of the existing defunct state of Hinduism. (10) Bringing works and translations of Hindu literature into the relevant vernaculars to facilitate Vedic Outreach activity. (11) Raising awareness and knowledge of Hindu history (politics and true history) For too long Hindus have been the human fodder of aggressive exclusivist doctrines which have no place in a rational and humanistic world. It is time for Hindus themselves to lose their narrow mindedness and bring the light of Hinduism to those who are in sore need of it. For the seeker who has an open mind, Hindu Dharma can answer all their questions.
