Guest guest
Hello dear Vicki, Yes, I'm fine. From this desk where I talk to you, the World Trade Center is (was) visible through the window. The view has changed! I was watching when the second building fell, but there was so much smoke, I couldn't see it. Everybody in New York is calling and emailing each other to ask about friends and relatives who work in that area. This must be what happens in Israel after a bomb goes off. It makes me sad for both our countries. The only person I know who works in that area is my former girlfriend (maybe I'm forgetting somebody). She works about a mile away so I'm not worried about her. She's not answering her phone, but I get her answering machine. Nobody seems to be answering their phones in lower Manhattan. Maybe they all left their offices and are trying walk home. They will have to walk, because the subways are shut down. The phones and Internet are working normally, but only one television station is broadcasting because the antennas were located on the World Trade Center. This is all maya, it's just maya, but it makes me realize that I love maya! We live in maya and love in maya and I wish that things like this didn't happen. Leaf is okay -- he lives far from here. He and I were talking by email when it happened. He cheered me up and made me laugh. The event at Aunachala Ashram was a lot of fun. More than fun, it was sattvic, it was Satsang. I'll post something about it later. To Jan and Suri and others who wrote such nice messages over the last few days: I'm sorry I haven't answered yet. Guest guest
Dear Rob and all, Whether it is our immediate loved ones affected in NewYork or Washington, or not, we all are affected. Pull a blade of grass and you shake the Universe. I was closely involved in an earthquake in India where over 20,000 people were killed and several thousands more injured, rendered homeless. So I know from first hand what catastrophe feels like. In these moments, my being goes out to all who have been directly and indirectly affected by the destruction in New York, Washington and elsewhere. The repercussions are going to be global, both in terms of conflict spreading, ( I would not bet on Afghanistan, surviving as a nation), as well as through the effect on financial markets. Oil prices have jumped, the US dollar is crashing in inter-currency rates. For all of us, the way of our existence is going to be changed, has been changed, maybe for ever. In such times, seek support, be with yourself and know that, even though it might seem impossible to accept right now, everything will be alright. Everything is alright. If for anybody, I could play any role to support or console in these difficult times, I am totally available. Meanwhile, I understand New York has a tremendous shortage of blood. I got in touch with the Red Cross, who are at the moment are looking to mobilize supplies, within the US, rather than Internationally. You guys out there in the US, get to the nearest Red Cross/ blood donation center and do what is appropriate for you.
