Aum - preamble

Dear Sri Suri,

Sri Bhagavan has said that "In the sphere of speech Pranava (the mystic

sound of AUM) represents the transcendental (nirguna) and the Panchakshari

(the five-syllabled mantra) represents the immanent aspect (saguna)."

To truly understand AUM is to dwell in the Self, one without another. All

sequence evolves from this. AUM is not, and requires no, communication.

However, communication exists as potential in AUM. AUM = Brahman. (The

screen is paramount, without it the film fails to unfold.) AUM is the subtle

word within. From AUM all words become manifest. To AUM all words return.

AUM is the Universal. The Universe, with its infinite number of phenomena

reliant on time and space, is nothing without AUM. AUM is the source of all

communication, yet reliant on none. AUM, as vAk, evolves as this universe,

with experiencers, the experience and the experienced. The apparent

evolution of the kArakas (those relations which accomplish actions) are

resolved in AUM. AUM is the sound of my Self. When the myriad forms

disappear, AUM remains, as always, as Reality. (When the ornaments

disappear, gold remains.) The relative universe resolves into something much

wider. This is AUM. This is the Self. This is Ramana. The Self of All.
