Guest guest
Leaf sent this comment about the World Trade Center disaster to the Realization mail group. I told him this message was saintly. He asked what I meant, so I explained that it reminds me of Jesus's teaching to love one's enemy, etc. He replied, "Oh, this is just how I feel." - Realization Tuesday, September 11, 2001 7:24 PM (no subject) Hello everone, I am going to be a little brave here, hehe, and say something that some might not like. We have been talking about the united states, how terrible this is, and what those people did to us, right? Well, now, open up your mind for one second, and think, think of the pain and suffering these people who did this were going through. Have you ever been very mad, and you felt as though you could just do some kind of violent thing, but, you sa, you would never, well, these people were like that, but they were pushed over the edge, and they couldn't help it. They were helpless I say. They were so full of anger and hatred and all of this. I do not think that war is a good thing for this, or any other thing. War only makes it worse. Hatred towards them doesn't help any, to send love to them, and good feelings to them. It will effect them. If we project hatrec and anger to them, the universal consciousness will be filled more with hatred and anger, and more of these events will happen. So, if not for these people who did this, do it for all humans i8n the future, for the good of everyone. Hatred and violence does no good, only love. Guest guest
Thank you Rob for this and your other postings of the WTC disaster. AS this was occurring, and as I listened to and read about (in the news and in this newsgroup) this tragedy I wondered about things like this in light of the nondual Truth expressed and lived by Ramana Maharshi. Do we stand in opposition to evil? Do we respond, "An eye for an eye?" Do we see once again that the world is unreal; the Self is real, so dive into the Self? AS I look inside, it sure seems like the response of opposition or reaction come from ego and my sense of being a body (in this case a body within a country that has been attacked). How can the response from the ego be the best response (even though it seems like the most human one)? Based on this inquiry, I sure support Leaf's response. How do we support the oneness that we are by standing in opposition? Is this not like one hand hitting the other? How do we use even this terrible experience to bring us into realization of the Absolute? I want to be able to use this to "dive within." When I do this I see the attachment and (mis)identification with the body and world. I do not want to respond from the misidentification. Got to keep the inquiry going. This one is tough, though. Also, as I read the comments and wisdom from this newsgroup, I see the love in the heart that I have for you all. Not two.
