Guest guest
Yes, thank you for again pointing to how it is the spirit behind the words, far more than the words themselves that carries the message. That was exactly what removed my usual resistance reaction to a concept that had been presented previously with a negative feeling behind it. Of course Bhagavan Ramana's words carry the love with which they were first said by him. And welcome to the list, Tom. Guest guest
Hi Gloria, Maybe the third verse of Sri Ramana's poem "Forty Verses on Existence" are relevant here. The last few words may surprise some people: .. "The world is real;" .. "it is an illusory appearance;" .. "the world is intelligent;" .. "it is not;" .. "the world is happiness;" .. "it is not;" .. of what use is it to argue thus? .. That state of egolessness is acceptable to all, .. wherein leaving the world and understanding .. oneself, one is freed from notions of unity and .. duality. (Mahadevan's translation.)
