Guest guest
om namo bhagavate sri ramanaya om sri gurave namah I returned to Mumbai today after a business tour marked by a very memorable visit to Arunachala Ashram in New York on December 23, on the way back. Here, I was overwhelmed by a first hand experience of Nishkama Karma. I have given a brief account of it below. I reached the Ashram by a cab from La Guardia airport, at about 2 PM in the afternoon. I had a large and heavy suitcase and a couple of smaller carry-on cases. I saw a tall black youth at a distance gently walking towards our direction as I paid for the cab. I went up the a gentle slope and a few steps into the Ashram with the two smaller carry-ons leaving the big suitcase in the side-walk. I came out of the Ashram to collect the big suitcase wondering how I am going haul it up the slope and the steps. But the suitcase was right at the door step!! I could see the black youth briskly walking away and had already covered quite some distance. I walked some distance after him shouting to convey my thanks. But he will have none of it. He did not even turn back to acknowledge it. Bhagavan Sri Ramana comes to us in so many different forms to give us Upadesa by words, by action and by silence. namo ramana!
