Guest guest
Om namo bhagavate sri ramanaya May the new year bring us joy and progress in our sadhana by the Grace of Bhagavan Sri Ramana. I am happy to report to you my recent visit to Sri Ramanasramam during Dec 29 -31, 2001. It was memorable. I got to meet a couple of our group members, Sri Ramesh Daswani and K Srinivasan, at the Ashram on Dec. 29th, soon after I reached the Ashram. Ramesh and I met by chance, as we were on our way to occupy the cottages allotted to us. (Ramesh was aquainted to me by email and I had exchaged mails with him regarding the Satsangas organized in Mumbai.) I also got meet Sri Srinivasan (Srini) a good friend of Sri Ramesh and a memeber of our group. It was very delightful meeting them. We did Giripradakshina on the 29th evening starting at 8 PM. We covered the distance of14 kilometers in about 4 hours and reached the Ashram back by about midnight. As 29th was a full moon day there was quite a crowd in the Girpradakshina route. Srini, Ramesh and I devoted the four hours of the Giripradakshina recalling the Glory of Bhagavan. It was a very delightful experience. We visited Sri Ganesan (Bhagavan's brother's grandson and the editor of Mountain path for many years) in his cottage on the 30th morning. There were several other devotees with him. As he had a prior appointment we returned after a brief conversation with him. Yet, it was a very elevating one. Bhagavan's Jayanti celebrations were grand this year as ever. It was attended by a very large gathering of devotees. There were special programs of music in the evenings on Dec 30 and 31. The Asramam wore a festive look with elaborate and artfully done flower decoration. The program began at 4 AM on Dec 31 with Veda parayana. The Tamil parayanam was also done in the morning and included Ramana Stuti Panchakam concluding with the well known song "Ramana Sadguru Rayanay". The puja to Bhagavan was attended by a very large gathering. Bhagavan's samadhi hall was full and many stood for hours outside the hall to witness the puja. A memorable event indeed. We had a special feast for lunch. There were several devotees from different parts of the globe for the Jayanti celebrations. There were mothers with infants, elderly men and women, school boys and girls, amongst the devotees. I had a very unique experience at the Ashram on the Jayanti day. I will post it as a separate mail. Namo Ramana suri Download exciting Logos, Picture Messages & Ringtones for your mobile phone
