Guest guest
File attachments are a common way to spread computer viruses. While it is unlikely that anyone in this group would knowingly spread a virus, it is quite possible that a virus that has infected someone's system could hitch a ride in an innocent attachment and cause harm to others. It is generally better to disable the file attachments feature and instead upload files that you want to make available to others. That way, only people that choose to download the file will be subject to the risk of viruses, and can take appropriate safety precautions beforehand. -John RamanaMaharshi, "vioricail" <viorica@z...> wrote: > RamanaMaharshi, "viorica weissman" <viorica@z...> wrote: > > Dear Miles & dear List Moderators , > > > > is there any reason in disabling the file attachements feature to > emails ? > vicki

Guest guest
Dear Vicki, The attachment facility was switched off after concern about viruses was expressed by some members. Photos/files can still be uploaded to the main page of the list. Guest guest
Dear Miles, thank you for your reply; I thought I might bring a little color , background, pictures, flowers I don't know what to my postings to please the reader's eye , but if member's wish is avoiding the possibility of viruses - I've already given up. vicki > Dear Vicki, > > The attachment facility was switched off after concern about viruses was > expressed by some members. > > Photos/files can still be uploaded to the main page of the list. > > Regards > Miles
