Guest guest
Dear Rahul, I might ask myself, "For whom is this egoistic thought?" Does this "I"-thought know itself? Who am I? From where does this sense of reality arise? Responding to the egoistic thoughts at their own level just reinforces them. Instead, just use these thoughts to point yourself back towards you own Being. Rather than carry the instrument around when it's not needed, remember to put it down. If through practice this remembrance becomes the default situation, there is no problem and no need to be concerned about developing (or not developing) humility.
