Guest guest
Dear Rahul, the ego is very tricky. And in sadhana it has its own trickery, sometimes in very sublime formes which are not always recognized as such. The most tricky thing is to think we have developed humility, we are humble devotees or we are advanced or have gained something special (a special experience...)...Ah! Even to think to be a devotee can be a part of the ego-gaim. True humility can only be when there is no ego left. So what Richard says is the best way. Don't try to grapple with - you will never succeed. Best is as soon as recognized to question from where the thoughts and feelings arise. In HIM Gabriele Dear Rahul, I might ask myself, "For whom is this egoistic thought?" Does this "I"-thought know itself? Who am I? From where does this sense of reality arise? Responding to the egoistic thoughts at their own level just reinforces them. Instead, just use these thoughts to point yourself back towards you own Being.
