Guest guest
I want to study Ramama Maharshi's words more. I would appreciate suggestions on a beginner's book or literature. I live in Costa Rica and was wondering if there are those here who follow this teaching. Thanks for any help you can give...what a sweet, sweet teaching! Guest guest
Hello: My favorite book and my recommendation is "Talks With Sri Ramana Maharshi." This is a thick book that you could study and enjoy for years and that coveres every item in Bhagavan's teaching. I've been reading a bit from it nearly every day for years. I go throug it slowly, a bit each evening, then I repeat the study when I finish the book. If I were stranded on a desert island and could take only one book with me to read, this would be it, without question. Regards, Mark I want to study Ramama Maharshi's words more. Guest guest
Hi, I would also reccoment Talks as the one book to get, if one could only get one book. One place where you can get it is http://www.booksbeyondwords.com/maharlnk.html Get Talks with Sri Ramana Maharshi Recorded by Sri Mungala S. Venkataramiah #103 ~ 657 Pages ~ Cloth ~ $29.95 Not the American Edition. In the "American Edition" the editors cut out some material that they did not understand. Guest guest
Greetings: I posted this a couple of days ago, probably before you joined. This book is short, and certainly no replacement for 'Talks', but, as a beginer myself, I've enjoyed it very much. Apologies for the re-post... Rick I wanted to share a wonderful new book which I found recently with the devotees... It's entitled "The Essential Teachings of Ramana Maharshi, a Visual Journey." The book consists of short, well chosen aphorisms from Bhagavan, combined with extraordinary photographs of Bhagavan and Sri Arunachala. I came on the book by chance (?!!) and wanted to let everyone know about it. I'm including a link to the page on BN.com, which contains a bit more information... In Bhagavan Rick <http://shop.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?userid=0QAYR2PNDV &mscssid=P7RKG250U8428K4A8JEBUGJ17NG1C2M9&isbn=187801918X> "sten12000" <sten12000 RamanaMaharshi Thu, 14 Mar 2002 19:08:09 -0000 RamanaMaharshi [RamanaMaharshi] Info for "beginner" I want to study Ramama Maharshi's words more. Guest guest
I've seen it on Amazon although there are other places. There are also two versions. One version is from India and the other is printed by Inner Directions at www.innerdirections.org. The one from Inner Directions has been edited for clarity but I found both editions equally good. The original Indian version needs some editing but there is a charm to the misspellings and "raw" quality.
