Dear Vicki,

I am all right. Thank you so much for your care and love. Hope you

are also?

About me: the first thing I have urgently to do now is to put myself

in the inner washing machine and swith on the boiling programme,

close the door of the machine behind me and have a good wash. So I

will be silent for some time as the door is closed. When the boiling

programme is over I can be here and on HS again. In which way we will

see then. So don't care, Vicki, being washed is always a release. But

please allow me to be silent for a while. And don't worry! All goes

by as it came.

Ever yours in Sri Ramana

Dear all,

Sorry to be butting in. I am silently enjoying all the nice postings and warm

feelings expressed in the mails. I am not going into the details as all of us

face similar problems one way or other. If these problems are not there where

is the need to pursue Ramana's teachings. Here is a bit from my experience.

My observation is that 'see who is really hurt' or who is really talking.

Follow it all the way for days if required without judging - good or bad. You

will find that it is not 'you at all' . Just the mind and the ego as usual

feeling nice , hurt and all that. If that is done no more going back.

For heaven's sake do not identify yourself with all the words and thoughts

during this active yet silent observation. The result will be your own new

experience.

With love,

Vatsa

Dear Vatsa:

Great sage post.

Lately when I have some unwanted thoughts, I tell my self that it is

just thoughts. The teachings really work.

Yes. I found that this is my deepest experience. Total faith in oneself no

matter what is happening in the world involving us will reveal the 'real

self'. It is very comforting, disarming and certain. The real self needs is

always right.

Very nicely said and true. No need to fight with the thoughts in the present.

There may be state when one wonders if thought ever existed. Time to laugh at

ourselves then.

dear vicki,

I can only say one thing. Even our course whatever it is - is only by the Grace

of Unknowable. Totally protective and silent. It drives everything. Thought is

totally futile in this aspect. It is that inside which keeps pulling us inside

and only way it is able to get our commitment seems to be through a bit

suffering to really clean us of our vanity and 'self love'. We really do not

know what is solidand profound and want to continuity of a little happiness.

I just wait through without trying to force the results through my stupid

thinking.

Hello Vicki,

Thought is just a veil which could vaporize as you mentioned. It may sound

very strong and directly in charge of our actions. But it can melt away by

just becoming aware.

I agree with you the Unknowable uses thought also to bring us to it.

It is exactly like coming out of dreams, slowly but surely, exactly the way

Ramana says that even the wakeful experience is but a dream of 'I' ness. The

commitment and surity of purpose is good enough to wake up (I am not yet

there but there is no anxiety).

The question then how did the thought happen. I think it is a deliberate act

of ITSELF to pretend separation (or 'many') for evolutionary and operational

reasons. So all are ITS forms without discrimination or preference , it can

reveal itself IN anybody, anytime, anyplace no matter what. No identity will

be left of that form after that.

Vatsa
