Guest guest
Once someone here asked after the Ramana Gita. Until now I have not read it in full but I want to start now. So I thought you might enjoy joining and I could post it in small portions (some verses a day or so), which will need a long period of time until it is finished. There was the question which edition I should take as there are two: the one published by Sri Ramanasramam and the other by Ramana Maharshi Foundation Bangalore. The last one is with commentaries by A.R. Natarajan. It might be helpful to add some parts of the commentary also as the text is not always easy understandable. So I decided to take the last one. For those interested: you can order at Ramana Maharshi Centre for Learning. in Him Gabriele ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Verse 1 Offering my salutation to Maharshi Ramana, Kartikeya in human form, I present his teaching in this lucid work. Commentary Ramana Gita is a record of the replies given by Ramana to certain specific questions put by a group of earnest seakers. The questioner in this chapter is Ganapati Muni, the recordist of this Gita. He begins this auspicious work by saluting his guru. Because of the exalted state of the teacher and the authenticity of his experience, Ramana is termed by the Muni as 'Maharshi'. He further describes Ramana as the human embodiment of the divinity, Kartikeya, the pre-eminent teacher of the Self. ... Kartikeya is referred to as Sanatkumara in Chandogya Upanishad, and as the teacher of Brahma-vidya to the great sage Narada. Ramana is cast in the same role, as his divine purpose was visualised by the Muni to be the same.
