Guest guest
Dear Viorica, I could not agree more. Again, I see inquiry as exploration. How can one explore with blinders on? Part of the problem for many seekers is their own unexamined assumptions as to who they are, what is their identity, and from where is the source of their happiness. It takes a kind of courage and humbleness to inquire. It takes real internal honesty to uproot a lifetime of mental habits and tendencies. But - What other choice do we have? Can we find our happiness in things of the world? Even the most pleasing experience or mood of mind passes. Our bodies pass. Every THING that we love passes. There is an Absolute. It is Who We Are. It does not pass. It does not diminish nor grow. So I see our only important choice is to become Who We Are. Guest guest
Dear v, It sounds like you have had a wonderful mystical experience, and that it has shaken the moorings of your ego. I would comment that if your experience is of the deep Self, then no more can be said. If your experience comes and goes, then there is more spiritual deepening that is needed. Who you are is (quoting from the Avadhut Gita): "I am without beginning and without end. Never was I bound. By nature pure, taintless is my Self. This I know for a surety. The absolute void and its opposite, all am I everlastingly. I am neither bound nor free. I am not separate from Brahman. Neither the doer nor the enjoyer of the fruits of karma am I. The pervaded or the prevaded I am not. As a Volume of water poured into water is inseparably unified with water, so, I percieve matter and spirit are one." If this comes and goes, then there will come a time where diligent practice may be appropriate. All that separates us from all This are our own erronious ideas (like of the individualized body/mind/ego). Again, from your writing in the post, I see one from whom there has been an opening. In this opening there will have been a diminishment of ego. For this opening to become permanent, Self-knowledge is needed. You have been blessed with an opening. Keep going until no one is left.
