Guest guest
Deal All, I am off to satsang, where I go most Sundays. I wish I were able to take all of you with me. I know from your presence in this group your love of Ramana and his teachings. In satsang, we recieve this teaching, as living teaching from living teachers! This is precious. One element of satsang that I particulary find of value is the ability to ask questions, and to recieve answers, answers from the very highest view. I have been going to satsang with Nome or Nome and Russ for about ten years. I have asked questions in perhaps half of these, so about 250 questions. So many questions, for just one answer: The Truth is within. The Truth is Who We Are. Plunge in. Inquire. This newsgroup is one way of sharing this teaching with the world. I thank all of us who participate by posting, or "just" by reading. We are Not two, Richard
Guest guest
Dear v, and All, Three answers to your request to say a few words about satsang. The first: Our satsangs are held weekly. They consist of meditation, a discourse from either Nome or Nome and Russ todather, then questions and answers, then final meditation. All together is is maybe 1.5 to 1.75 hours. The second: For me, satsangs are funny. If I listen standing as the mind, I can remember much wonder teaching. If I am there, absorbed in the teaching, when my wife and I drive home after satsang we will ask another what was talked about, and neither one of us may remember. This satsang was like that. Nome started talking about the Silence of Being, that is about the last I can remember. I also asked him a question about how to take my recent insight that brought me to more conclusive knowledge that "I am not in ANY of the known" and use it to deepen my practice. We had a great dialog, it took me deep. I mave no memory of it, though. Parts of the discussion often surface in mind during the next few days. I will have to see if I can get a copy of the audio tape to find out what was said. I want to do this, because it is such a great help. The third answer, I asked SAT if I could share some material from a recent satsang. They have graciously given permission. I will post this in two parts. The first will be the discourse. The second will be the questions and answers.
