If you don't really know God and you attempt to practice this, then who are you surrendering to? An image of god you have in your mind? I'm sure this is an argument I've somewhere read before, since it doesn't fell like mine. But maybe it will be useful. with metta, Chris >

Use the power of perception. Allow the body/mind sensations to come to your attention. How do I feel when? What am I doing? Surrender to life. Every moment is new. There is memory but there is no repetition. Who am I? Break the spell of conditioned thinking that I am an accumulation of life experiences. I am that I am. No matter where I go, I AM. Regardless of what time it is, I AM. The sense of I Am is what I am after. Before Abraham was, I AM. Who am I? I Am. I Am That. I Am This. I AM. Hold the mantra I Am. Inquire ceasingly, Who Am I? Find out what I Am NOT. Neti, Neti. Whatever I can see, you are not. Whatever I can smell, you are not. Whatever I can taste, you are not. Whatever I can hear, I am not. Whatever I can touch, I am not. Whatever I can think, I am not. All concepts have to fall away. Self realization is outside of time. Time is thought and thought appears in time. I am that which is aware of thought, time. I am is timeless, stillness, love. Seek the I Am and you will be seeking God. I Am doesn't leave me, I leave it. How? By going into thought, into concepts, into imagination. Surrender to the power of the I AM Here NOW! What you are seeking is yourself. Surrender to that which you know. I AM. Guest guest
Om Namo Bhagavate Sri Ramanaya Namaste, God is the same no matter what image we have of Him. We all have images of God because our minds put an image to everything, even if it is truly formless. It is still going to be complete surrender to Him, and you will learn that you are not separate from Him nor can you act indipendantly of Him. like I said in my last post, whoever you surrender to is the same.
