Guest guest
Hi I had a look at the Sant Mat files. I couldn't see anything which corresponded to my experience at all. For one thing I heard no sound. I also did not cross the void. I was not practising yoga at all at the time, I was just meditating with a group of other people when it just spontaneously happened. I felt at the time that I experienced the root of the Being, the Spirit, and I still feel that I did so. Oh well, perhaps so, perhaps not, who really knows? That's life eh, and in the long run I don't suppose it really matters, apart from the fact that it has given me a whole other perspective on what life really is which I doubt will ever leave me in this lifetime. It is like his encouraging us, giving us a taste of what awaits. I have had inexplicable glimpses that led me first to Sant Mat. The sound is a tricky thing. It does exists just as it is written about. I have heard it at different levels. Perhaps the surat (sight) of the soul comes more easily to us than the nirat (hearing of sounds) does. But I am still sorting out non dualist terminology from my old terms. These sounds help still the mind by pulling it and attaching the mind to the sound instead of to thinking and incoming thoughts. It is more powerful. In that way it aids meditation -- and does carry us on to higher planes. But concentration, concentration, and more concentration I love it -- especially when it happens spontaneously. Otherwise it is very hard work for all of us. The Sant Mat books would say that this is all sanskaras, we are reaping these glimpses from past life effort. Net *********** >

Those are good samskaras to have then. Other than that I think I'm in the red at the bank Btw have you ever heard sounds which started out like a hum or bees buzzing then turned into an internal tune? Guest guest
Marion, Here are the seven sounds as recorded in "Voice of the Silence." (at end) They are more or less a guide to the sounds which are sometimes not heard in their pure state due to the impurity of our mind and not being used to hearing it. It's like when I listen to French (my second language) and hear a word or it being spoken very quickly I think "I can't hear what the person is saying well" and I want to turn up the volume and slow them down. Same thing with my students when I say a word or talk about something they are not familiar with they ask me to speak louder, or say they cannot hear. It is a device of the mind perhaps. That is the fault of the hearer (not the soul) but the mind as it gets in the way of the soul's listening, the fault is not in the Sound Current. The sounds then are all signposts -- they point -- as I was just reading on this list about a sage's advice, he called it pointing on the route, the path to the Self. But sound is also used as part, means to concentration. Here are the 7 sounds from "Voice" nightengale's voice silver cymbal melodious sound as coming from a shell chant of Vina (not sure about this one) string instrument I think, someone said there is a guitar sound... bamboo flute shrill in the ear that changes into a trumpet blast dull rumbling of a thunder-cloud The seventh swallows all the other sounds, they die and then are heard no more. "When the six (sounds) are slain and at the Master's feet are laid, then is the pupil merged into the ONE, becomes the ONE and lives therein." Each sound is associated with a separate plane of existence, duality I guess you would call it, still exists as long as these sounds can be heard. I have heard and seen the black thunder cloud she talks about as well as the rest. Good questions. Don't know if my answers are as good. Net This is what I have been taught and experienced. Someone else may have different sounds or different descriptions of those sounds? ************ -- In RamanaMaharshi, "maz" <maz@g...> wrote: > > > netemara888 <netemara888> > > >The Sant Mat books would say that this is all sanskaras, we are > >reaping these glimpses from past life effort. > > Those are good samskaras to have then. Guest guest
Dear Net: I heard a very loud thunder cloud with lightening and I yelled out "Ride em Cowboy" And then they banned me from that group too. So I came to Advaita and got banned from Harsha. When I am Realized, I will not only be the banned, but the banning and the one who does the banning. Its all destiny Karmas. Would you please clarify your statement below for this group, as it appears that you are no longer on my group and and that I was the villain. "We have Alton and the other person who ran me away from that group with his ill will to thank. All for the good" Thanks in advance. Alton aka Julius Caesar.. A previous life love of Cleopatra aka Net. me seem like RamanaMaharshi, "netemara888" <netemara888> wrote: > Marion, > Here are the seven sounds as recorded in "Voice of the Silence."
