Guest guest
> then what is Light? jyotishAmapi tajjyotistamasah paramucyate / jnAnam jneyam jnAnagamyam hrdi sarvasya vishThitam // Light of lights, beyond the darkness, He is called; true knowledge, that which is to be investigated, understood through knowledge, abiding in the Heart of all. (Bhagavad Gita, 13; 17) That, which illumines all of this, is Light. Its nature is satya (Reality), the Self-luminous, Light of Consciousness (cidAbhAsa). As the sun illuminates the world, so the Light of lights (Atman) illuminates mind and senses. As the eye cannot see without the light of the sun, so the intellect cannot function without the Light of the Self. It is said that the sun does not shine there, nor do the moon and the stars, nor lightning nor fire. All the lights in the universe cannot be compared even to a ray of this inner light of the Self. Conceptual twaddle falls away in obeisance to this Light of all. Take to vicara and merge yourself in this constant, eternal light of lights, the light of the Self. Blazing, Sri Arunachala, a seemingly insentient hill, silently representing Siva/Paramatman, reveals the mystery of the Self to one who enters through the fire of Vicara. Ever Yours in Sri Bhagavan, Miles
