How ling should one go on with the self-inquiry/

 

Bhagavan : It is needed as long as there is the least trace of

tendencies in the mind to create thoughts. So long as your enemies

[thoughts] occupy the citadel, they will be issuing out. If you kill

each as it issues out, the citadel will be captured by you in the

end. Similarly, each time thoughts rear their heads and issue out,

crush them by inquiry. This processes of crushing all the thoughts

at their birth place is termed VAIRAGYA[Dispassion] . Hence inquiry

is needed right upto to Self-Realisation. What is required is a

continuous and uniterrupted ''thought'' of the real Self.
